It’s all there the history the story how it all came into being. Its in the walls the monuments the streets and the sky scrappers. I see it on the faces of the people who walk around down town dwarfed by the burden of the future carried on the backs of the past.
Sight seeing is easy just drive around and judge it as like and dislike after all its not your hood not your fault if things don’t seem as they suppose to be. After all I am just a visitor with disposable dollars to spend. What if I would see myself in every one in the so called other. I guess I would melt like the drop of water does in the sea.

My favorite installation this month was put on by a Seattle Gallery by Ambach and Rice Gallery.

This show doesn't have any fear of expressing fearlessly and it shows that fear is just a joke of God.

The truth is that fear is a left over from ancient days when our only options for survival was flight or fight.

Sure modern life can be terrifying but we have the law now to protect us and lawyers to fight for our rights. We have actually rights now.

Sometimes we lose sight of that and become to paranoid by ingesting all this horrid information from around the world which is presented to us like nouvelle cuisine to keep us staring at it on TV, in News Papers or on the internet. But the joke is on us and instead of laughing it off and enjoying our life we carry the karma of the whole planet around with us.

AMBACH & RICE is pleased to present Cracks of Dawn, a satellite exhibition in Los Angeles featuring new drawings and sculptures by Eric Yahnker. The exhibit conflates artifice and authenticity to construct a poetic and perverse exposition on the American condition. Employing absurdity to assault absolutism.

Cracks of Dawn is permeated by Yahnker's monumental photorealistic charcoal, graphite and colored pencil drawings, installed floor to ceiling on two walls amidst a wallpaper comprised of varying cans of food thickener. Through the lens of what the artist describes as a "Mel Brooks-ian take on history" the artist suggests ethical dilemmas through visceral depictions that vacillate between the transcendent and the grotesque.

In The Big Con-onization (Mutha from Calcutta) Yahnker enmeshes Mother Teresa with Marlon Brando's iconic role as The Godfather. Amidst a stark film noir setting, cigar in hand, the audience can alternately supplant themselves as interrogator or the interrogated. Piety is obscured by a smoke screen, while the motives and legitimacy of a Saint are disparaged, the veil of the seemingly impervious hero breached. Chiefy Chief 5 Bunghole Hat is comprised of a Native American chief adorning an elaborate headdress with a visage reminiscent of a sambo-esque blackface minstrel. Five floating anuses further exacerbate the shock and irrationality of the image. The work was inspired by Sam Peckinpah's 1965 Western, Major Dundee, set in 1864 in which both North and South, atheists and the faithful, abolitionists and slave owners, unite in their shared hatred of the Apache Tribe. Yahnker appears to imply that his image is no more erroneous than portraying Native American's as murdering and pillaging savages in popular Hollywood Films, more often than not played by Italians in red-face. The work highlights America's deep seeded history and continued fear of the other, evidenced in the ongoing gay marriage debate. Together the drawings elicit a morally ambiguous and absurd context that casts doubt on our ability to assess ethicality and authenticity, particularly when deprived of social and historical consensus. Yahnker achieves this charged atmosphere without fully disclosing or pontificating his own sentiments or agenda, compelling the audience to paddle up shit's creek without a map or lifejacket.

The drawings are augmented by a series of sculptures, both unassuming and heroic in scale. Tequila Mockingbird (One Tall Sombrero) a fourteen-foot tall sombrero suspended from the ceiling, consumes the center of the gallery in a fashion reminiscent of a straw Liberty Bell. Yahnker has in essence planted the elephant in the room. The sculpture's height alludes to the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, containing the Citizenship Clause, which in 1857 overruled Dred Scott vs. Sanford, enabling African Americans to obtain citizenship. Stitches n' Dishes, an elegant arte povera inspired sculpture, consists of commemorative plates containing religious, Americana and pop culture iconography in addition to the artist's own clothing, cut into one inch squares and wound into concentric rings that result in a form indicative of a rug or the rings of a log. This work could be perceived as a summation of the conundrums imparted in this exhibit, pitting labor against disposability, a whirlpool of over simplified messaging rendered abstract, a mirror that refuses to reciprocate a gaze, a self perpetuating delusion.

Despite the uncertainties Yahnker appears intent on moving forward in his aim to assert a "future oriented visual treatise, using past as prologue, and psychoanalysis as philosophy" to set a stage in which conflict condemns complacency.

Eric Yahnker was born in Torrance, California. He received his B.F.A. in animation from the California Institute Of Arts and studied journalism at University of Southern California. Recent solo exhibitions include Nervous Surf, Galerie Jeanroch Dard, Paris, FR and Naughty Teens Garbanzo Beans, AMBACH & RICE, Seattle, US. His work can be found in collections throughout the US and Europe. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles.

David Wojnarowicz art work “ a Fire in my Belly” has been removed from the National Portrait Gallery exhibition Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture because of behind the scene pressure by the catholic league who has nothing to do with the catholic church but has made it its sole purpose to defame homosexuality.

The decision to sensor an exhibit because of outside pressure and because of the fear of losing funding confronts us with the important questions what do we stand for in a land that claims freedom of speech and artistic expression.

The role of museums is not to judge a work of art but to represent it to the public so the public can engage, be informed and can make its own decision.

It is the responsibility of museums to engage us with complex, sensitive issues so we learn about all aspects of the human condition not just the one we filter out.

The National Portrait Gallery had the courage to fulfill this mission and to present this exhibition in an institution and in a scholarly fashion.

Art has always and will continue to raise questions and respond to cultural and social issues in the world. It challenges us all to confront the ways in which we think about our collective past, present, and future.

This blatant attempt by an individual group to restrict the artistic freedom is not acceptable and shows that we are in a cultural and historical crisis where single entities with enough money can manipulate public discourse in a Democracy which turns this Democracy into a farce.

This show serves the public as a whole and the censorship of such is against the principles of the founding fathers creed of freedom of thought and expression.

It undermines the spirit of inquiry which is at the core of human evolution and the Smithsonian's own mission statement.

The troubling thing is that the precedent the Institution's leadership has set with this censorship is that the public discourse can be bought and manipulated by the very few who wield enough power to buy opinion instead of allowing it to be formed naturally.

Giving in to pressure regarding works of art on display in the museum damages the integrity of the Smithsonian as a valid Institution to display serious art. A museum has to stand above personal taste or ideology to be of service as a public institution.
To remove a piece of art without engaging others is like living in a dictatorship.

If we don’t allow conversation to let all opinions be heard we cut off the process that makes us a true Democracy and we deprive segments of our society of their rights.
A museum exists to grow greater awareness and understanding not to cut of discourse in the light of controversy.

The Smithsonian should reassess the current situation and learn from the outcry of injustice and to encourage G. Wayne Clough's to reconsider his recent statements and to concede that he made a mistake otherwise he can be considered a crook that has been bought off by an outside entity who doesn’t have any right to do so.

The Warhol Foundation felt in the light of these insider politics that it had to with draw its founding. AA Bronson asked that one of his pieces of Art will be removed form the exhibit as well as a protest.

Other galleries and Museums as an act of siding with the artists and their rights have shown the censored piece in their Institutions like the Hammer Museum which was one of the first to react in a positive way.

We can not allow to let punditry steal the public discourse and reduce the intellectual exchange to political posturing. The viewer needs to be respected as an intelligent being with the potential for enlightenment. Federal funding can not be used to black mail a free culture.

This is an important issue in these times of dumbing down and dialog is encouraged but the public has to be allowed to participate and to disagree.

Lots of times how we see others who are standing on the soap box of life has not much to do who they really are but as humans we love to fill in the blanks with our own fantasy's of how somebody should be. Interview with Walter Maciel

How did you get involved in art and how did get you inspired to open a gallery?

I studied studio art as a painter and art history at UC Berkeley beginning in the late 80s and received a double BA in both majors in 1991. When I was getting ready to graduate one of my professors (Katherine Sherwood) suggested I try an internship at her gallery (Gallery Paule Anglim) in San Frnacisco.

That soon lead to a job at another gallery (Braunstein/Quay Gallery) where I worked my way up to an assistant director position within the first year. During that time my career as a painter officially ended with no regrets. I eventually became the director of the gallery and worked there for a total of 6 years.

In the spring of 1998 I landed a new job at another San Francisco gallery (Rena Bransten Gallery) and worked there as the director for almost 8 years. I had always wanted my own gallery but had to come up with a strategy and a financial plan.

I pulled the funds together and decided to move to Los Angeles after a few visits to the then newly established Culver City Arts District. I began looking for a space in February 2005 and had found my current space and signed the lease by the fall. The gallery opened on March 18, 2006 almost fives years ago.

What is the mission of the gallery and how do you like your current location in Culver City?

The mission of the gallery is to promote emerging to mid career artists through solo and group exhibitions, exposure and introduction to museum curators and arts professionals, participation in national and international art fairs and establishing an interest with important private and corporate collections.

As mentioned above, the burgeoning art scene in Culver City initially caught my interest and I loved the uniqueness of the different spaces which could be easily converted from a sloppy warehouse to a beautiful white cube for showing art. I also liked that an interesting group of galleries was starting to form as a new nucleus without the formula of a strip mall complex like Bergamot Station.

LA was a bigger art community than San Francisco and had claimed its position as the second art city after New York. It was also much more affordable and easier to build out my space.

Where is Art going in our times and what is its future according to you?

I feel art like music or fashion is in a constant flux of recreating previous movements or establishments. The internet allows for an instant exchange between communities around the world which has connected the ideas of international communities.

I also feel the platform of an art fair has been introduced in most major cities around the world and they have allowed collectors and art enthusiasts an opportunity to see a lot of art in a contained space.

Dealers no longer are feeling forced to be in New York and a gallery can easily set up a space in any community, big or small, and still have a viable audience through participation in art fairs and online exposure.

What is your personal art taste and is it reflected in your exhibition selection?

Well obviously I own the gallery and select the artists that I am going to represent so yes my taste is directly reflected in my program. I tend to be interested in artists who tell a personal narrative about who they are and their experiences in the world.

This isn't always representational art. I do like painting and show a lot of different painters. I also show artists who work in sculpture ranging from ceramic to stitched vinyl to mixed media foam materials.

Conceptual photography has always been an interest of mine but I do not have the opportunity to show it as much as I would like because of the production costs to do a solo show. I occasionally show video and started my first short film cycle last summer.

Why did you pick the two artists for this show and how do they fit together?

My gallery was intentionally designed by me with two exhibition spaces that could allow for two shows at the same time or one continuous show in both spaces.

Maria E. Pineres who does needlepoint and photography is an artist that I have represented since I opened my gallery in 2006. She has had two prior solo shows in the back gallery.
I organized Maria's show last fall after another artist who was initially planned for the January/February slot had to postpone. I was unsure of the back gallery show and came across the photographs of Walt Cessna by accident while perusing Maria's Facebook page.
After further exploration I learned of Walt's great talent as a photographer and his exposure to the New York fashion world. I became aware of the Joy of Hicksville series that was shot from 1989 to 1993 with the collaboration of Maria and the light bulb went off in my head.
I love the history and connection between both artists but each works in different mediums in very different ways.

What is your current show about and how did this collaboration come about and what is its message?

Maria E. Pineres works in needle point but always selects provocative subject matter to contradict the endearing and homey quality of the medium. Her topic in my current show is gay male to male sex and she has chosen to display sexual acts in a close up perspectives.

She also has a series of nudes shown in interesting poses. The newest works are the digital prints which show hardcore sex acts in needlepoint enlarged in hyper-realistic replication.

In my opinion the works are far from pornographic and became comical renderings that relate more to the structure and layout of Pop Art.

Walt Cessna began the series Joy of Hicksville with Maria in 1989 when they were house sitting his family's home in Hicksville, Long Island in suburban New York. They raided his mother Joy's closet and began posing Joy and her "friends" around Hicksville and eventually in New York City. The series lasted four years and embodied several participants and props.

Do you consider contemporary art as voyeurism for the masses?

Contemporary art is only voyeurism to the masses if they do not to get involved by educating themselves on the ideas and objectives of the art they are viewing.

Most contemporary art has some conceptual value that is not explicit and the viewer needs to ask questions and do research in order to be a participant.

Galleries are a great venue for learning for many reasons. They are free and open to the public. They are smaller and more intimate than many museums and allow for accessibility to get up close and interact with the work.

They are also staffed with people who can talk about the art but of course some gallerists are more approachable than others.

Is their a gay stereo type and if yes what is it about?

I am not sure I understand this question. Are you asking if there is a gay stereotype within gay artist's work? If so, I would say no but artists often tell a message through their work based on personal experience and therefore being gay is a manifestations in our society could definitely be projected in the work.
Obviously, this is not to say a gay artist always has to make work based on being gay...or straight, or Asian, or Black, or female, or male. I think you get my point.

What is your opinion about pornography?

Well I personally love it but if you are asking the difference between pornography and art it all comes down to the context of how it is presented. Art can definitely include pornography and pornography can definitely be art.

Showing pornography in the context of a gallery or museum allows for a discussion of some component of the industry which doesn't necessarily happen when one is engaging in pornography in a private setting.

What is the difference between Art and craft?

Again, like the topic of pornography, it is all about the way an art form is presented. Contemporary art has allowed for new mediums of all different types of materials and this has crossed over into tradition craft materials and methods. If an artist recognizes the medium as a traditional craft material in a community and uses it in his or her work than they are obviously challenging the notion. This is of interest to me as much as the physical object being produced.

Is their a gay soul or sensibility in the expression of Art?

That really depends on who is making the work and what the objective is. That is not to say the artist has to be gay though.

Are their extremes or any taboos you wouldn’t show in an exhibit?

Extremes maybe but taboos never. I worked for a gallery that had an Ed Kienholz show prior to me working there and the piece consisted of an armature where a loaded barrel would revolve and could possibly pick up the one and only bullet loaded into the configuration of the piece. The odds of the bullet actually loading were in the millions per participant but highly unlikely. You had to sign a waiver to participate and you would stand in front of the range to take a chance. I am not sure if I would have the balls to show a piece like this in 2011 because of the impending legal risks. It is too easy to sue someone and win!

What is the difference between documentation and art?

On a basic level, art is typically a visual experience and documentation is typically a written experience. Documentation can also be visual usually through photography so I assume that is what you are getting at. Documenting an experience is simply that--pointing the camera and taking a picture to be used as a visual memory. Making art with a camera requires a plan and executing it according to the plan.

What does LA offer as a city for contemporary Art and artists?

LA is an exciting city in terms of art institutions and exposure to different types of art. There are several museums that show contemporary art as well as the second largest gallery circuit after New York. As an artist LA offers more bang for your buck in terms of studio space (especially compared to New York) and lifestyle (especially in terms of the mild climate).

What is your next show at the gallery and what can we expect?

My next show is a painter named Greg Mocilnikar who lives in Long Beach. He will present a new series based on his documentation of his neighbors garages and the content within each. He transforms the information into beautifully rendered oil paintings with a limited amount of visual information to give the pictorial fields an initial abstract quality. They require a bit of time to sort out and gain an accurate perspective. Greg is a brilliant painter and his show will open on February 19th.

I've seen Alex Pardee's work once before in Portland and have to say that his work is the strongest when paited in acrylic.

Sure I always feel sucker punched by his visuals but the powerful craftmanship keeps me coming back for more.

The Art itself describes the universal horrors of life in excruciating figuratives but also dazzles in vibrant colors to trap us in our confusion not knowing if we should love the work or be convulsed by it.

Vertigo is hunting the Nightmare that hunts each one of us once in awhile.

You have to see this show even if you run the danger of being plagued by nightmares afterwards but maybe you are as lucky as Alex Pardee who says about himself that his dreams are mundane.
The show is beautifully displayed at Corey Helford Gallery and offers some surprising installations to flesh out the exhibit.

We all try to present ourselves the best way we imagine to be but it does not always add up to the truth of whom we are. We hide the aspects we think could hold us back or keep others away. We mold ourselves after our parents, after others, after famous people or alter ourselves to meet social standards to conform to advertised.

We are bombarded with images who try to tell us whom we should be and how we should look mostly just to sell us a product that would enhance us or get us closer to a false ideal. But in truth we are just becoming a hybrid of nothing and in the process we miss out to develop our true self which doesn't fall out of the sky or we are born with but it is a process of constant joyous becoming.

It gets better if you let it get better

It takes a life to see some ones town at fault
A life taken to show how much it is worth
How much pain we can sustain
It takes a young man’s tragedy to rewrite a wrong
A sacrifice for a society that decides who belongs
It takes a community to make love last
It takes a moral stand to heal the failures of the past
Someone died someone in pain
Because of a teaching based on shame
His death was an act of senseless indoctrination
That pits one human’s nature against hates personification
But they don't die in vain
Because social blindness has lost in this game
Compassion has broken the spell
Tears of sorrow come forth from this well
Separation is not a nation we want to call our own
Hate has to be driven out off every American town
Decades of denial can’t built a fence high enough
To let anyone hide behind made from the wrong stuff
We cannot hide the horrors of discrimination
Because it still exists in the center of our nation
The minds of a few had turned at the wrong end
Had left love to funnel their self hate on a hells bend
If my tears could bleed for the sacrficed they would
Because no one can imagine has yet understood
That chained to their misguided believe
They took what caused all mothers to grief
The heart ache is impossible to bare
All we can do is be there to share
everyone is born equal out into the world
Where ears could be opened this story would be heard
Where this injustice could be turned into a tool for justice

Exposed at their root as hateful and unlawful
The demons have moved on to higher ground
But denial still makes the rounds
Responsibility is not everyone’s case
Some want things buried under a feeling of unease
But tears have been shed because of a deeper love
That talks about equality on Earth and above
Wonders can happen if we are the ones
That pick up from there and keep carry on their bones
As we remember the horror but use it for good
To get closer together and make ourselves understood
That we demand equal protection not just for us
But for a nation that claims to stand for honor and trust
As we witness the bad things that happen in our world
We are called to make clear what we want to stand for
A hate crime is the worst of its kind
It robs us of our most basic principle
that we don’t kill one of our own kind
We declare that speech that entices such behavior
Is the source of all hate and in no ones favor
And an agression against our neighbor
But hearts had been turned cold by hatred
That was as old as the zealots that preached it
Nothing we can say or write
Can bring back what is lost in the pile
But we won’t let anyone forget
That everyone that is gone is
a lost star that had no chance to shine
To remind us with a soft spoken voice
That we have to react that we have a choice
To speak out now before it’s too late
Before for somebody else’s brother son or daughter
Becomes the victim of an unjustifiable slaughter
Laws need to be approved
That make sure that make clear to let everyone hear
That this is not endorsed by anyone
That they are not alone in their fight
To feel right here right now at home

TPR: "When a kiss is not just a kiss"

The Kiss

When is a kiss not just a kiss, a beautiful expression of love and desire for one another. When does sharing intimate gestures with another deviate from normal human behavior and who has the right to judge it.

A brief history of the Kiss

Ernest Crawley gave it some thought in the 20th century and came up with this explanation: Kissing is "a universal expression in the social life of the higher civilizations of the feelings of affection, love (sexual, parental, and filial), and veneration."
So one would think nobody could find anything at fault with that but wrong. If two people of the same gender kiss it evokes such misguided socially conditioned discussed that the love birds could be in trouble and be stoned or otherwise maimed. Two young men were hanged last in Iran and others in other countries are bullied and driven into suicide just because they have loving feelings for one another.

The French are famous for inventing the Fresh Kiss where the tongues meet in electrifying ecstasy to enhance ones lust for each other but I think they stole it from Nature.

In the book "The Kiss and its History (1901)",Christopher Nyrop identifies different ways to kiss like kisses of love & affection of peace & respect or plainly friendship like the double cheek kiss also preferred by the French. He notes that the categories are more or less contrived and overlapping because other cultures had even more variety like again the French and even the Germans. Who knew that about the Germans I guess they are good kissers.

In Western societies the kiss was used in religious & ceremonial ways and had a sacret quality. Crawley notes that in general kissing in one form or another was practiced in some form since primitive times but received its chief development in Western culture.

So who told you as a child that kissing was dirty when practiced with the same gender and how could that be used as an excuse to do harm.

There are no easy answers but the most common is the fear of the other of that’s what seems different of what we have been taught. The sad thing is that there is no logic behind it only superstition.

I hope Matthew Sheppard got to kiss someone had a chance to experience, to feel love and lust for another before he was beaten to death on superstitious grounds by a group of ignorant youths who were manipulated to belief that same gender love could be less than any other love less then what’s is suppose to be practiced. They obviously had not experienced love for another being otherwise they could have not done what they did.

The Kiss teaches us about the other about caring, sharing and nurturing another and that life is not just about what you can get out of it but about what gifts you can share with other human beings.

How did you get involved with Art and when did you open See Line Gallery?

"Art has always been a part of my life since I was a child. Always absorbing it where ever I could from others through my surroundings and from my own practice..
I had organized and curated numerous exhibitions of my own work and others and had always wanted to open a gallery. See Line Gallery opened in 2006 in a small creative space in Santa Monica which evolved from my media office into a gallery.
In 2009 See Line Gallery moved to the Pacific Design Center to join the residency program Design Loves Art."

What is the gallery’s mission?

See Line Gallery is an exhibition space dedicated to presenting innovative curatorial projects and supporting the work of exceptional contemporary artists

What is your process to pick artists?

Artists are selected through intuition and a passion for good art work.

What is your greatest challenge a curator?

Realizing exceptional projects with a limited budget and no funding

What influence does Art have on society in your opinion?

Art is a creative expression and a reflection of society and the current issues. Art engages a dialog with society to provoke, to enhance with beauty and encourage thought.

What do you like about being at The Pacific Design Center?

The prestige of the building and the location and the opportunity to engage with the design community in addition to interacting with the other galleries and artists in the design loves art program.

How do you feel about the developments in Culver City?

I think it is good to have a few centralized areas for the arts and not so spread out. West Hollywood has also become a destination for the arts.

What could the city do better to promote and help art galleries?

Provide resources and funding for galleries that are platforms for the arts however not non-profits. and more opportunities for artists.

How is the collector base in LA compared to NY and Miami
and who buys contemporary Art in LA?

My client base is diverse and includes collectors from the creative industries including producers and directors as well as designers.

What do you like most and what the least about living in LA?

Los Angeles is full of resources and an amazing pool of talent and artists. What I like least is the air quality and traffic

What is the current show and how did you decide to combine these artists?

"Standard Deviation"

This was a first for me where I invited someone to co-curate and collaborate with me on an exhibition.
We started with the idea of numerology and it involved into Standard Deviation we bounce everything off each other from title of exhibition to curatorial theme and statement, to artists selected. It was a great experience.

Standard Deviation: to shift, split away from the norm, average. the two idiosyncratic worlds of Jenny Le and Janet Levy merge within the realm of the exhibition "Standard Deviation."

Departure from the norm and escape from the expectation of models regarded as the common value, the works selected showcase a collective that reaches away from any typical curation formula.

This exhibition assembles established artists alongside fashion designers, photographers, directors, and architects. Offering the viewer an opportunity to look at a variety of distinctive works interacting together rather than formulating standards in which the works should derive.

What comes next for the gallery and where do you hope to be five years from now?

See Line Gallery presents a group exhibition High Task Frequency curated by Janet Levy including installations and sculptures by Dewey Abraosino, Taft Green, and Jason Yates with each artist’s work referencing the structure of sound.

See Line will continue with innovative curatorial projects and expanding to present internationally and developing collaborations within other creative industries. In five years I will be producing and curating exceptional curatorial projects on a large scale. See Line Gallery and Janet Levy will be international recognized for innovative and outstanding curatorial projects.

LA Down Town Art Walk January 2011

Joe Moller proved that the LA Down Town Art Walk is not dead but alive and well with creaticity and inspiration. The vibe was electrifying and everyone was on their best behavior. The art was in your face and showed a wide variety to please everyones taste.

The Art Walk went through a bit of controversy because former executive Director Jay Lopez didn't think the format of the event worked for the galleries. Ofcourse this art happening is not that much about the art or selling as it is about a neighborhood event and a reclaiming of down town from the clutches of ghettoism.

Joe Moller looks like a good fit with big plans for the Art Walk. His mission is to help achieve the greatest positive impact to the greater Downtown area through the Art Walk.

The Blue Canvas event stood out with its crowd of tattooed hipsters and its co-sponsors Scion with its hybrid art cars and the Art Center College of Design which showed art from the creative edge of the near future.

Bleed me a fresh squeezed juice feed me your innocence so I too can become a butterfly breathing ozone like if it is the breath of your heart. I am the fall the divine comedy but I am also the remedy the cure for hell and damnation. I am the bird that broke the sound barrier; the bird that flew to the sun and back without a cinch on his wings.
I am the thought free falling out of the tree of life, the Nirvana of yesterday, the Karma of tomorrow. I borrow from Jesus his christness and carry the cross back up the mountain of pain to proclaim the end of confusion. I am the first born blossom out on the limb of unconditional love. Give me a wonder and Ill tell you if it’s a miracle. Angels dine on my table like squirrels at the last supper in a heavenly park.
Tomorrow bathes in my waters of inspiration to swim with yesterdays catch.
I am the Nymph man the last of the Mohicans the one in the middle dancing all around. They call me a name but they don’t know how to spell it so that the mystery can continue on its path around eternity.

Dr. Strange Love meets "Rain Man".

Xenakis is best know as an architect under Le Corbusier but he also wrote about music.
One of his most important works is " Formalized Music: Thought and Mathematics in Composition.

Iannis Xenakis brought together architecture, music, and advanced mathematics to confuse us with unearthly sounds and wild drawings that resemble the scribbles of a maniac genius.
Xenakis created revolutionary designs which are still beyond us. Many of Xenakis's innovations in music and architecture were realized as drawings and sketches leaving us with a fault of graphic documents. He claimed to be thinking through the hand.

This exhibition shows original works on paper produced between 1953 and 1984 and includes about 60 rarely seen musical scores.

The Exhibition allows you to listen to excerpts of his music scores but don't expect ordinary music.

His interdisciplinary approach is characteristic of his architectural designs for which mathematics and musical concepts were equally important.
I felt like a fish out of my tank listening but then I feel like a worm out of my hole in some of the new architecture as well.

The American Idiot is back, the musical has a revival. The American idiot is well he is strutting his clipped wings like the burning feathers of the Phoenix who is pre-assumed is to rise again. It is all about form and package; it’s the after quake of the resurrection, the pre-dawn of a new idiocy followed by the believe in redemption.
I don’t believe in redemption but in paint by numbers, think by numbers, live by numbers. Numbers don’t lie and we are getting dumber by the numbers. I love you American Idiot not because I need you but because I don’t want to be you, don’t need the spectacle of self indulgence and self victimization, don’t need my extremities displayed while I spit fire out of my ass hole to get a reality show.
I love you because you do all these things for me and you show me that if I’d do the same I also be an American idiot.
LA is my gate way drug.
But I don’t need any flavors that remind me of my child hood; I don’t need to be a guitar hero to proof that I am a lame copy of a lame original. Your body language tells the whole story about your anguish like being marinated between Kim Chi and extra spicy buffalo chicken wings. You are a bad influence but a good example what not to be.

In today’s life this is the essential question because we are taught that we can be anything we want to be. So the new question is “what not to be but what to be?”

WEHO is not just for the Gays but also for anyone else with taste and the right wallet size to feed it. Style reigns in this cavernous catacomb like architectural monument clad in green and blue sheets that reflect the outside world like the snow capped mountains in the near distance.
It's a nice place to bury a few thousand dollars and to expect to be treated like a king or queen with slogans like "nothing is impossible". Everything yells "you want it we got it" and I want everything I see here so well lit on display. So be a design slot get that Bulltaub kitchen or take a tour with Lori Dennis to find out why you can't live without what.

This is LA's gate way to the world of design and while there have an event they have enough space for 2500 of your dearest friends.
If you are a professional or not you are welcome there and when in the mood go for a swim at the public pool across the street next to the public library where the rest of the popolous gets its design inspirations.

Surfs always up

The Naked Truth is that I don't have one truth but that I am like the ocean who doesn't care about truth but cares about being an ocean or doesn't care at all because if it would care it would need to acknowledge that it is just an illusion and not really an ocean or anyhting worth labeling because it is not separate from the beach or the sky.
Please don't label it yells out , I yell out be fresh be naked and the truth will show up all by itself or not. I care but you don't have to. I care about this ocean that acts like a magnet to me. It calls me as if it knows that I am too 98% salty water. I am not the only one that is drawn to the watery lines, the waves that crash that want to be conquered but always win in the end. Surf is always up somewhere in the world and so am I while I time travel in the search for the next big wave of excitement.

We are all subs in life submerged in desire. Life is not a finished phrase or reducible to slurs life is an open source program with no beginning and end we can explain but is impenetrable to our intellectual prowess unless you know how to open your mind wider than your conditioning.

Art is the thought the glimpse the spark that can be ignited anytime any place to step out into the light that shines for the good or the bad alike. Art lies and art tells the truth it sparkles like a diamond or dulls like an aching heart but it never ceases to amaze and the notion that we will ever understand it is completely nonsensical.

I decided to morph to become a new kind of virtual artist one out side of the common traditions to have to show in a real space. My space is the old super high way, the hologram, the former cyber space, the Matrix, the last web 2.0, the social network for an interconnected society, the Grid of radical change. I am part of the silent revolutionaries that are constantly redefining definitions themselves.

I live in Califunia a fictional land existing only in my head like everywhere and nowhere at the same time and I can access it in “my time” an any time frame. I bear witness to it like a second genesis and populate it with my personal creation myth to name each inhabitant like a confidant created only to be at my disposal.
I am the original ghost, the place , the source, the hype, the drive in, the Empyrean, the Emtyrean and the one that re-brands live to redefine ” in the dog we trust”. I am on a scavenging hunt for my Alter Ego.
